Fake "utility" is dead.
A new era of memes, art and community have emerged and @FuddiesNFT on the Sui Network is up next.
Here's the scoop.
Muh Utility.
Shortly after the inception of Solana NFTs, the ecosystem was plagued with “utility”. At the time, the rationale made a lot of sense, since Solana is a highly performant chain.
However, after 100s of failed projects, it was clear that utility was doing more harm than good.
Teams were creating first world problems on steroids, then "fixing" them. In more extreme cases, NFTs would even be created with friction on purpose. Teams would then create fixes to the problems they were creating... that didn't even need to exist.
Fast Forward: Now, infrastructure is built first - and NFTs come later. These days, NFTs mainly exist to:
- Raise capital
- Drive Awareness
- Build community
(@xNFT_Backpack executed this flawlessly.)
Solana NFTs paved the way. But will @SuiNetwork repeat the sins of its father?
Memes. Memes. Memes.
Enter Fuddies.
A community based around... memes and cute art. Literally. That's it.
So... why is this currently the most talked about upcoming mint on any chain, including Solana?
The answer is a bit ironic.
Utility projects saturated NFT markets for months.
They solved fake problems with real money raised from our communities. A majority of these projects were/are flat-out rugs.
The irony?
These projects are a bigger meme than Fuddies could ever aspire to be
The Verdict.
Fuddies works because it doesn't pretend to take itself seriously, nor does it want to. Rather than devise an elaborate utility ponzi, Fuddies embraces transparent chaos. It's a utility bros worst nightmare.
It's a self-proclaimed meme.
But more than that... It's fun.

DYOR and definitely don't buy into this one if you're expecting some kind of earth-shattering tech.
