I’m the most terrifyingly boring person I know - I’m sure of that.

I don’t party. I don’t do drugs really. I even used to go on these long walks by myself and just stop and start staring at the clouds moving. Anyway, I stopped going on these very long walks when I got into this thing called “Web3”. If you really wanna get into it, I damn near lost 12 pounds last cycle cause I kept forgetting to eat. No shit. My doctor (she’s a sweetheart, even though she reeks of cigarettes) started freaking the hell out when I went in for my check up last cycle. I mean she was seriously neurotic as hell about it.

She was all: “You need to start eating again. You’re skating a dangerous path, young man”, wagging her red fingernail in my face. You could just tell she painted them herself, cause the paint was all cracked. She was so insulted at the fact that I lost that much weight. Like she failed me, or something. That whole lecture was kind of annoying to me at the time, but I start smiling like a goof when I think about it these days. It’s a good thing to have people that look out for you once in a while, I guess.

At one point, Web3 consumed every fibre of my being. There was always something to do, I mean. I’d wake up at 4 AM to catch this play, and miss someone’s birthday to catch that one. It’s horrible, I know. But this was the “future” — and I didn’t want to miss out on it. I wasn’t gonna miss out on Solana going to a thousand bucks, or the next “100x”, because in my head, that meant I’d lose out on my future happiness.

Slowly, I began to become desensitized to money. I was unappreciative of it, if I’m being completely honest. Along with that, my ability to be easily impressed by things evaporated overnight. A good friend once told me “crypto kinda feels soulless.” Not to be dramatic, but my obsession with things going higher kinda made me feel it. Like I was losing fragments of my soul. Bits and pieces, here and there, like a rotten tooth that chips more each day.

One time, an ex-girlfriend went off on me about how all I cared about was money. That really pissed me off back then. I was visibly red. Steam out the ears and all. But I was only so mad because she was right. Guys hate to admit it, but women are right a lot of the time.

It’s kind of obvious that a lot of good things happen in Web3, but it’s also the metaphorical “last chance” for a lot of us, too. It’s our tunnel out of the rat race created by the sins of our fathers. But crypto… in a lot of ways, is a rat race in itself. It’s not our fault. It all feels kinda like Squid Games, if you’ve ever seen it.

Whether you’re a founder, or a trader, an artist or a developer… It feels like there’s a constant pressure to perform. It’s like, you feel pretty good about your portfolio or the art you sold, but then you see a 6-figure screenshot of some 16-year-old’s phantom wallet on Twitter.

You see your childhood idol, Hulk Hogan, rug millions of dollars in your face.

It makes you wonder what all of it means. It all feels like capitalism and keeping up with the Joneses eloped and had a foursome with AI and an infinite money printer. It makes so much sense, and no sense at all.

These days, I’ve chilled the hell out. I kinda just observe a lot of things now. I buy art and design a ton. I even took one of those crazy walks I was telling you about again, and watched the clouds for a bit. I’m still busier than ever, but there’s a rhyme to it now, at least. Not to sound all sappy, but I feel my soul coming back. I think it’s safe to say I didn’t like the version of me that was overly obsessed with money.

I guess I didn’t like him because he never asked himself “is it ever enough?”

The older me would say “it’s never enough”. In fact, the old me would probably be simping on the timeline for Iggy Azalea right now as we speak. (Nothing against the folks that do that, by the way. She’s a very attractive woman.)

But it is easy to spiral into a void of soulless conversations about “memecoin this” and “memecoin that” if you surround yourself with people that don’t care about anything but money. Eventually all you care about is Solana hitting $1000.

And for the record, I think it will. But will you be happy when it does?

And if not, when will you be?

What happens if the memes you own end up owning you?

From someone that went through it all, make your bag, but don’t lose your soul. Take care of yourself and your family. Think about the people that look out for you. Take a vacation or buy a house or something. Whatever makes you happy.

Or… keep gambling, I guess. I don’t know. You don’t have to take any of my advice, you know. I won’t be offended. Maybe you just like to read me ramble.

BAD* Environment Club was always meant to be a community of creatives, on-top of a streetwear brand that used NFCs to onboard retail to Web3.

As a founder, you want to make your community happy.

To make thousands of people happy is no easy task.

As you can imagine, our goalpost shifted many times.

Eventually it got to the point where we weren't even doing the things that made our brand "cool" or interesting in the first place.

We weren't designing or having fun.

We were barely even making clothes.

We realized pretty quickly what the problem was. It wasn't a lack of direction per se… but a lack of unification.

This is a feature and a bug of NFT collections. You cast out a wide net and catch a “community” of all colors, shapes and sizes.

But real community is not “curated” this way.

I’d argue that 1/1 collections get to curate their community much better than mid to large-size NFT collections.

Because community is curated slowly, through conversation and with precision. NFT communities are “curated” in the blink of an eye. It’s chaos.

There is no unification… This is why almost all NFT project Discords eventually become ghost towns. They’re too large. Some people are short-sighted — some don’t care about the founder’s vision at all.

Communities that are curated like this have a much harder time becoming actual friends.

Friends.

In the 90s there was a skate shop called ‘Supreme’. Back then, Supreme wasn’t as popular as it is today. It was an organic group of skaters that listened to music and talked shit to each-other all day, every day. Eventually it led to something special.

When I lost sight of our North Star, I thought back to why we created BAD* in the first place. Our project is about culture, art, vibes, creators and streetwear. Our project is not about making crazy returns, spamming “GM” or anything like that.

When a community is fragmented, the only solution is to pick up the pieces and start from scratch. So, that’s what we’ve been doing.

We closed our public Discord and opened up our private work server. We only allow a select few community members in through “waves.”

NFTs are not lottery tickets or “luxury goods”.

Most importantly — NFTs do not entitle you to everything under the sun.

Yesterday I had a stunning realization.

Two, actually.

1. I’ve made enough money.

2. I am not good trader. I’m not a particularly great investor, either.

I think the only thing — and I mean the only thing — that has ever separated me from my peers has been my ability to take profits.

I tend to buy when I know something is extremely oversold. In my mind, it’s obvious. Buying Solana at $8 was obvious. Buying ETH under $2000 was obvious. But I have never perfectly timed the top.

Not once.

And for the record, timing the top is impossible. If you time it perfectly, you were either a terminally online sociopath, lucky, or a strange combination of both.

This is why I always tend to sell at half-time.

I sold “too early” last time, too. Right before Terra LUNA crashed, and the FTX scandal.

In the moment it feels wrong.

There’s still so much opportunity (there is).

It feels like you’re leaving too many chips on the table. Little do we know, this is how Vegas manages to trap its customers. Its why most traders are unprofitable.

They leave the real chips on the table, and forget the point.

I still believe the point of all of this is to bet on yourself.

By no means is this financial advice. I’d feel horrible if you ever took my advice on anything financial. I’ve come to peace with the fact that BTC to 100k this cycle is a likely scenario, and I’d miss out on most of it.

There I was.

Click clacking away at some e-mail for a manufacture deal I was closing in on.

Maybe. I’ve talked to so many of them. The names of the companies are starting to blend in with each-other; bleeding into some sort of metaphorical Neapolitan ice cream soup. Yucky. Melty. Another day in the life of a founder.

The cool steel underneath the keys of my laptop is the only thing keeping me sane. Lately nothing else feels real.

E-mail finished.

I glance at my watch and close my laptop. Deep sigh. I open it again. Forgot to brief my UI designer on something I’ve been envisioning for our site…. Sofia. New hire. She’s a holder, and a UI wizard. She seems pretty cool.

Before I even enter the password to my laptop, I close it again. Almost subconsciously.

“What the hell am I doing…?” I say out loud, gently stroking the edge of my chin.

“What are we building all of this for again?”

I really thought about it. I lingered on it for a while, I mean. The house was so silent you could’ve heard a damn pin drop. No answer. The silence is cut in half by a firm “meow”. Cat is looking at me. She’s a diva and a real attention whore, if you want to know the truth. But I can’t say no to those emerald eyes. I pet her for a bit and get back to work.

Death.

NFTs have been dead for what seems to have been an eternity at this point. The numbers don’t lie. Memes have dominated the narrative. Founders have given up. Influencer contract addys are meta. Builders? The few left are forever discouraged by the degeneracy that is CT.

It’s like people want the exact opposite of what they were asking for in the bear market. They never wanted substance — they wanted to get high. I find that so funny for some reason. It just kills me. Don’t ever listen to the demands of the mob. Don’t even listen to me. People never know what they actually want.

“Life comes and goes in cycles” I keep telling myself. I think I’m trying to convince myself it’s true, or something. But the truth is I have no idea about anything, really.

I don’t know if the world will end tomorrow or what the hell I’m even eating for lunch today. I know nothing. But I still work every day...

So, here’s my perspective if you care.

Attention.

I’ve come to the stunning realization that our world is dominated by the “attention economy.” What that means is attention is a commodity, and it translates to real money. My hot take is that aside from AI, the internet isn’t going to evolve much beyond this point. We didn’t just front-run our ancestors, we front-ran ourselves, too. Thanks to apps like Tik Tok, our attention span is that of a tiny goldfish. Social proof is backed by likes. This is your reality now.

The idea of trading memes for currency is not new. We used to do it on facebook for likes (more likes = more clout aka currency).

NFTs are the perfect example of what happens when your ability to share art or memes is not liquid enough… and memecoins are the perfect example of what happens when the market that burned the addict decides to toss them one last bone.

Altruism sheds its skin for degeneracy. Jack becomes the Joker. The clowns rule the circus. The memes become the currency.

But what if that isn’t a bad thing?

Why does it have to be?

Isn’t that what drew you to NFTs in the first place?

Magic.

You can lie to yourself but you can’t lie to me.

The reason you even decided to join this circus in the first place was because NFTs were you ticket to financial freedom. They were infinite money printing machines backed by hot air and weird art. They defied all logic. They made you smile even though your friends hated them.

All of it was just so alluring — and it was magic.

The idea that magic was real. That’s what kept you going. We’re seeing a similar trend with memecoins right now. The idea that some guy threw $500 in WIF and is a millionaire now. That makes no sense… so surely, it’s magic. It has to be.

Because the truth is this world can’t be as dark and bleak as they tell you it is. There are cheat codes and rabbit holes. There’s an undiscovered matrix no one is paying attention to; and you’re in the heat of the moment.

The real question is can the magic return?

North Star.

Like I said, I don’t know about anything. I’m just a humble observer working on a cool brand backed by NFTs.

The market wants what the market wants. I don’t think it’s our job to force experiences. Experiences should be organic, and they don’t always have to be so serious.

If you’re a founder, and you’ve lost hope… remember your North Star.

Build the business. Write the e-mail. But there needs to be a reason deeper than money for all of this. You need to love what you do. Screw passion. There needs to be purpose. I almost lost mine. I’m glad I found it again.

And if you’re a consumer and you really want NFTs to return, stop treating them like they’re rolex watches or lamborghinis. Stop treating them like they’re tickets to the Illuminati. Luxury goods don’t lose 90% of their value in a year. Wake up.

These are pictures on the internet and the only currency they are backed by is attention.

So if the attention shifts from memecoins, and NFTs do have a massive, metaphorical comeback — remember we’re all just a bunch of crazy people trading attention on the internet and we probably belong in an asylum. Seriously.

Build. Expand. But please… remember to have fun.

The rise of ‘loner culture’ in South Korea in the 2010s is about as depressing as it sounds. The subculture referred to as ‘honjok’ represents a myriad of youth that embrace loneliness. I’m not memeing. Allow me to re-emphasize:

The culture refers to a large number of people that enjoy the state of being alone; and the rise of single-person households and overall decline of romantic relationships reflects the accuracy of that statement.

This goes without me mentioning Hikikomori syndrome in Japan — A total withdrawal from society into cold isolation… mostly seen in adolescent men. The problem has become so great that Japan’s birthrate is quite literally free falling - and Japan’s Prime Minister announced the government “will spend twice its defence budget” this year in an attempt to tackle the dramatic decline.

And finally, we have America’s Generation Z.

Zoomers born between the late 90s and early 2010s that have a deep familiarity with technology, the internet and their dramatic evolutions.

Loneliness has become a worldwide epidemic, and the terrifying spike in loneliness in the United States — particularly in the youth exposed to the traditional workforce, or youth that actively use social media — has grown far too massive to ignore.

In a study I read, over 73% of the participants reported that “they sometimes, or always feel alone.”

So who do we point the finger at? Well…

• Free Third Places like Churches, Parks and Libraries are in decline.

• Dating is virtual and people care more about “matches” than genuinely forming connections.

• Political tensions and distrust in the government is at an all-time-high.

• Toxic comparison is everywhere, leading to dysmorphia of all kinds.

• Overstimulation from apps that use AI (that were designed to distract you) are destroying your attention span, one video at a time.

’m sure you’ve thought of multiple other reasons. Cool. But where has it led us?

Identity.

Most people can no longer afford to get married or buy a house.

They can’t afford to go out because their bills are too high.

The world is collapsing before our very eyes, and we’re so angry we’ve become desensitized to what anger even feels like. It’s so much easier to retreat behind a screen.

Your friends? Online. Your music? Online. Your love? Online. You even order all of your food online.

And this brings us to the last piece of the jigsaw puzzle: Communities have gone digital, and our identies are slowly being merged — or better yet, reincarnated — online.

I could write a thesis on the popularization of the “Discord E-Boy and E-Girl” subcultures that have grown dramatically alongside the rise of “crypto bros” that buy and sell identities online to greater fools that just want to feel a sense of community; or anything really.

I could talk about how people cosplay as SJWs and argue over topics and definitions they barely understand on Twitter, Reddit and other forums.

Hell, I could even talk about how some people are literally living inside of the metaverse right now.

But the gist is… your online identity, aesthetic or whatever you want to call it, is something within your control. Maybe the only thing.

Our generation has lost our sense of control.

It’s why people love NFTs so much. It’s not just some picture on the internet: It’s an appreciation for art, culture and ownership. It’s a piece of the internet you truly own; and the computer says it’s true. But when losing money becomes the norm, you forget why you loved it so much in the first place.

It’s why people spend 8 hours a day playing League of Legends, screaming at their monitors. In that universe, they have control of their character(s). They have clout and respect. They understand the game. But when something goes wrong, that feeling of losing control — in the one arena they should have full control over — breaks them.

And it’s why you’re even still reading this crazy, word-vomit of an essay. Maybe you identify with a thing or two I’ve said, and if you do, I’m sorry. Being lonely sucks, but maybe this next sentence will help you put something into perspective:

It’s okay to be alone.

And to be quite honest, we are all a bit lonely, even if some people don’t want to admit it. That in and of itself is comforting. It’s something a lot of people are going through, and you’re not the last, surviving lone wolf in the story of life.

If you’re struggling with being lonely, there’s thousands of people out there that are just as lonely. As depressing as it sounds, that… is culture. Seek them out. Join a Discord. Buy a JPEG. Ask your friend to add you to a groupchat.

Or better yet. Call an old friend…

The internet is our only birthright. We might as well make the most out of it. Stay lonely, my friends. — Lite.

I’m getting back into writing. So, think of this article as an an open-ended excuse for me to rant. I’m trying to get back into the habit, anyway. So, it kinda works out.

I’m usually very quiet on these subjects, because in my head, they never lead anywhere meaningful. Recently, however, it kind of feels odd to not chime in with two, three or four cents to add to the topic.

I hope this doesn’t come off as me sitting on my pale, glowing, high-horse as I lecture the masses, or whatever. I hope it comes off more as an honest observation from a bystander that usually doesn’t say anything.

And look, it’s 6 AM. Sorry if I mince my words.

What is Web3 Anyway?

I officially joined the space in October of 2022. I won’t get into why or how, but I will get into what kept me there.

The idea of building a new, decentralized, user-centric version of the internet swooped me off my feet.

The notion that there was a solution out there that could provide real transparency, whilst simultaneously providing equal opportunities to people in lower-income regions kept me hooked.

And the vision of self-custody — no, self-accountability — is why I never lost hope.

Although I’ve contemplated it, I’ve never lost hope in the space… but I’ve seen many lose their faith in it. And that, to me, is much worse.

I love Web3, but Web3 is a mess — and that’s fair. We’re literally building the new internet. Many of us are trying. But it’s not gonna be all sunshines and rainbows. That’s not real.

But still; I can’t help but notice that we’ve seemingly lost all sense of accountability in the space. As a founder, content creator and professional in the space, I’ve seen a few things that you have… and haven’t. Here’s a long list:

Breathes in.

• Traders buying things with money they can’t afford to lose, then getting angry at influencers for shilling them rugs.

• Influencers shilling you projects they know are rugs, because they are personally, and unfairly invested.

• People launching projects, protocols and/or startups with zero intention(s) of working at least 8 hours a day on it, for the next 5 years (at least).

• Folks demonizing founders that do stick around for trying, while simultaneously buying into projects that have no whitepaper, roadmap or revenue model(s).

• “Traders” saying they want founders to do the things listed above, buying in once they deliver it, then dumping it if it doesn’t 2x overnight.

• Founders quitting, burning out or rugging after they realize the contradictory nature of the above, but before they’ve delivered on their word.

• Gamblers calling themselves traders, and traders calling themselves investors.

• Protocols preying on ecosystem-wide desperation via points, airdrops and other temporary metrics.

• Content creators that don’t actually create any of their work, but say they hate AI.

• Midfluencers calling influencers out for things they would do in the same position.

• Influencers that made (and still make) their money scamming their following playing victim, whether it be through denial, dramatic long-posts or attack.

• Founders paying influencers to shill you memecoins that they created.

• Influencers getting mad when other influencers call them out for doing it.

• Founders arguing and talking down to people, opposed to educating them.

• Marketplaces wars: A nonstop onslaught of shade on the timeline and one-dimensional features that end up nuking founder projects to zero.

• The irony of the above is we caused it. Starting with 0% royalties.

• Developers taking on more clients than they can handle, resulting in unresponsiveness, poor work or straight up rugging.

• Clients demanding unreasonable things with unreasonable deadlines.

• Shady individuals launching predatory protocols that are purely extractive.

• Few are trying anything impactful or new.

• The few that are doing something new successfully hate on folks that haven’t caught up… flexing on them, rather than guiding them in the right direction.

Breathes out.

Crypto Twitter is about as serious as it sounds. That’s another thing: outside of our bubble, no one takes us seriously, and we don’t have anyone but ourselves to blame. We’re constantly rugging each-other. Whether it be financially or socially.

Is it possible to recover?

Is It Over?

The saying “a few bad apples ruin the bunch” really stands out here. If you spend a lot of time on social media, these issues seem magnified. In reality they’re quite small in comparison to the rest of the shady things that happen and have happened, well, in everywhere else… Especially in major finance industries.

I don’t know how else to say this but, uh. People are dumb. We do dumb things.

In the 80s, Jordan Belfort swindled investors out of $200 million dollars. $5-6 Trillion was lost to the speculative, dot-com bubble. The market crash of 08 was caused by a series of bad decisions that wiped out a whopping $2 trillion from the global economy.

For reference: $2T is the total market cap of all of crypto.

Trust me. It’s not just us. It’s the whole world.

And why do we always have to linger on the bad?

Jupiter Exchange did $15B in volume this month. Bitcoin flipped silver to become the second largest ETF commodity. My brother in Christ: The Bitcoin ETF was approved.

To me, crypto is actually doing pretty okay. If you zoom out, at least.. and at the end of the day, crypto has a straightforward use-case.

In time, the issues I listed above will be fixe- er, managed. Whether that be through regulation, understanding or (you guessed it) accountability.

It’s real; But it works both ways.

The more you chase engagement, the more it evades you; or the more you subconsciously mold your content into something you think should sound viral. This is why viral posts sound like they are written by actual robots. It’s because they literally might as well be.

When other people see those viral posts, they try to replicate the soul-less content. Then it compounds into an echo chamber of copy + paste word vomit and we wonder what’s not working. It’s a vicious cycle of mundane content. Your obsession with virality is what limits you.

I get it. Your intentions are good. You are doing what you’ve seen work, what your friend’s viral thread said, what good ol’ ChatGPT told you. But ChatGPT forgot one thing…

Humans can sniff out fake from a mile away. We hate it and don’t know why.

In our brains, most agree: Fake = bad.

So, here’s what you’re missing: When you become obsessed with pleasing the algorithm, you basically become it’s bitch.

Don’t get me wrong. This can and does work for some. But at what cost? I am saying this as someone who has studied social media and algorithms for 10+ years. I see this on every platform, time and time again. It never changes.

Most people can check box 2 & 3. In fact, most DO.

This time, they don’t want to pretend. That’s good, cause I don’t like pretenders. I know most people don’t like crypto. I ask them what they think of it anyway.

My curiosity tends to gets the best of me sometimes, and these opportunities are rare moments suspended in time.

I listen. Not to respond… just listen.

“It’s bad for the environment and it doesn’t help anyone.”

I listen to people like this whenever I can. Never have I demonized their thinking… In fact, I find it fascinating. And this fascination always leads me to the same question.

“If life is about people, and people don’t like crypto, then what and who are we building towards anyway?”

For the last year I’ve been creating something we call BAD* Environment Club. It is the first thing I think of when I wake up, and the last thing on my mind before bed.

In my usual fashion, the project wears a veil of mystique. Today I’m here to answer some questions, tell you more about it.

So, Without further ado.

The Club.

Bad Environment Club (BEC) is a lot of things. But the best way I can describe it is a collective of creators and visionaries rejecting the current status quo. We don’t like normal, and aren’t afraid to break the “rules” through experimentation.

The point of these experiments is to change the way people view, use and talk about crypto (in and outside of Web3) - We strive for unpredictability, so these experiments usually hide in plain sight.

“WTF does that mean?”

Before I get into the how, let’s talk about why.

1. I’m doing this because as things stand, crypto has caused a lot of harm, has barely unlocked 1% of its consumer potential and is not being used to improve the day-to-day life of ordinary people.

   1. I believe the above happened because Web3 exists within a tech bubble that is not only incredibly hard to find, but incredibly volatile and difficult to navigate, chasing those that somehow manage to find it, far away.

   2. Crypto has a major communication issue. We’ve turned people on the outside (and inside) of our bubble, off. Crypto has rugged them countless times, and we, the community, are a tad insufferable when our bags are up or down.

      I liked cryptocurrency more when it was the “anarchist” thing to do. Now it just feels like capitalism on steroids.

      Our behavior and culture alienates people. So, even if we had the perfect words right now (which we don’t); they wouldn’t want to hear it.

Can We Fix This?

The simple answer is no.

As long as the bubble exists, it is impossible. That’s why we have to pop it.

Virgil Abloh used to talk about the concept of merging the worlds of the ‘tourists’ and ‘purists’ and forcing them to interact with each other through ‘Off-White’, his streetwear brand.

He adds onto this by talking about how musicians throughout history, utilized art such as music as metaphors, to open doors that expanded the minds of the masses.

This is pretty trippy to think about, especially when you realize, for example, that by blending genres (through music sampling), people that may not have liked Jazz, or Hip-Hop, or whatever genre it is… end up embracing the new idea they ignored or disliked because it is based within another idea they’re familiar with.

Why am I talking about this?

Because at its core: this is what Bad Environment Club does - and it’s why we’ll be blending streetwear fashion with NFT tech.

The NFC.

Bad Environment Club isn’t an NFT.

Yes, our community is rooted within Web3. Yes, we are building our proof of concept in Web3. And yes, our streetwear merchandise will be infused with Web3 tech… but that is where it begins and ends.

Aside from everything you’ve read above, we will operate as a Web2/Web3 ‘hybrid’ streetwear-inspired business with actual revenue streams. This means:

• We’ll use traditional Facebook and Instagram ads to target the streetwear demographic, familiarize them with our brand and boost conversions.

• Our shop will offer fiat as a primary pay option; Phantom will be secondary.

  • Fiat integration for Web2 consumers was an up-hill battle, because few build for it. In the end, our devs found it was surprisingly easy to implement.

• We’ll have pop-up-shops, events and everything in-between.

• Our clothes will be sprinkled throughout popular brick and mortar streetwear stores and appear on influencers that have nothing to do with Web3.

Bubbles.

Crypto has too much friction. Few are building to solve for this.

Friction is where and why we lose people. Trimming the fat is not enough - it must be completely eliminated.

By eliminating friction, tackling the multi-trillion dollar counterfeit industry and having everyday consumers familiarize themselves with the concept of ownership; we’re not just killing three birds with one stone… We’re reincarnating the concept of streetwear.

When people say “it’s not possible”, I look at Pudgy Penguins selling physical toys on Amazon and in physical stores like ‘Five Below’.

I look at the hundreds of thousands of users that played STEPN, many of whom were not even crypto native, and had no idea they were playing a game that revolved around it.

I look at Web3 like the new internet. They’ll write about these times in history books centuries from now. I want to play my role - and that involves breaking a lot of stuff.

It's a question I get a lot; and it’s kind of a complicated answer.

To the vast majority, we've always had a "few screws loose", but now Blackrock and co. are entering the space.

A few years back I moved to a different city.

Moving is tiresome; and finding a new group of friends, a cool cafe spot and a barber you trust is harder than it sounds.

Thankfully finding that new barber was not only a blessing in disguise, he was a friend I really needed at the time.

I was working a mundane job back then - but the idea of financial freedom had recently sparked my interest. I had just gotten into investing. You know, Robinhood, Dogecoin; Real serious stuff.

Every two weeks, my barber and I would talk about dreams, money and where the world was heading.

He was like the older brother I never had and with every passing appointment, my perception of the world grew larger.

The best thing about Bitcoin is that it has no centralized owner.

Humans have proven time and time again that they can't be trusted on a long enough time frame when it comes to money.

They'll do so with size. And they'll mow over years of innovation. The last crash was based in cope, and was completely orchestrated. They don't have as much control as they'd like. So they need scare you out of the party they were late to.

This sad reality is the part I'm not excited for.

But the truth is we all have a say in the future.

The halving is around the corner, and the whole world is watching this time. I say it's time to double down on your conviction.

2. Dopamine Detox

Dopamine is responsible for our pleasure and motivation.

In the modern day, instant gratification is everywhere. Drugs, video games, porn...

It's harmless, but with every high comes a crash. After a dopamine high, the baseline shifts lower.

This is why people that play video games 24/7 are like "zombies".

They don't even seem to enjoy it anymore.

They need to play more to experience the same high (addiction) because their baseline is MUCH lower than normal (depression).

You can detox. But I have a better fix.

3. Distraction Elimination

Write a list of your bad habits.

Don't just detox for a day. Eliminate them for good.

Your baseline will shift to normal. You'll have more control over your impulses and avoid short term gratification.

Less distractions. More focus. Better rewards.

4. Meditate

Meditation is great for increasing concentration.

We're constantly surrounded by noise. Now, for 15-30 minutes a day you get to block it out.

Focus on the breath. It takes time to master; but it's well worth it.

I recommend the Calm App. It’s worth the money.

5. Routine

This one is simple enough: Write down a routine and try to stick to it.

This works especially well if you've eliminated distractions.

You'll have nothing else to do.

We're creatures of habit. That's why routines work.

I use Notion for mine.

That’s all there is to it. Everyone is capable of improving their concentration and achieving their goals. You just need a little focus.

1. You're greedy.

Greed has been the downfall of every civilization. So, it’s not exactly a mystery as to why it’s the downfall of most traders.

As humans, greed is wired into our DNA. We thrive off dopamine and we can’t help but feed our dormant gambling addictions every once in a while.

I’ve had friends see a 100x in their face and refuse to take it because “it’s going higher”. I’ve seen people lose their entire networth gambling. I’ve pretty much seen it all and there’s one common theme I’ve noticed.

Meditate, remind yourself, or even physically talk yourself out of it. Whatever you need to do, remember that when your dopamine is surging and you’re feeling greedier than usual, it’s probably time to sell.

The entire market is based on emotion. There are no exceptions.

If you only pay attention to this point and flat out ignore the other two, you’ll still be better off than most traders in the market.

2. You have no strategy.

This one is simple enough.

If you’re consistently losing, you may have no profit taking strategy.

Imagine a sports team never practicing plays or calling time-outs to restructure their strategy. You can’t play the game efficiently without strategy; and it’s extremely important for making profitable trades and replicating the process.

A profit taking strategy can be as simple as “_ was my entry, and come hell or high water, _ will be my exit.”

Profit taking strategies are different for everyone and every field, whether it be NFTs, stocks, crypto or even real-estate. I recommend spending some time looking into your field and customizing it to your specific needs.

3. You fall in love with your bags.

While this is much more common in the world of NFTs, you will still lose in any other field if you become emotionally attached to your asset(s).

Great examples of this happening in the retail-trading stock world would be the and craze. Traders fell in love with the magic of the rare moment and became emotionally attached to the robinhood-esque "stick it to the man" movement.

Despite some people making life changing money, far too many lost more than they ever anticipated.

Don’t fall in love with your bags.

If you take these three points into account, I’d be willing to bet that you’d become a better trader, almost overnight. But there is no such thing as an “overnight” success. So make sure to form the habit of taking profits, controlling your greed and taming your emotions.

‘The Benner Cycle’ has accurately predicted over 100 years of market cycles, movements and global catastrophes, including the Great Depression, Crash of '08, and even the Covid-19 pandemic.

Today I’ll show you how a farmer from the 1800s accurately nailed market movements for over a century… and most importantly, how you can use it to your advantage.

Coincidences.

The Benner Cycle divides itself into three periods:

• Years of Panic

• Years of Good Times with High Prices

• Years of Hard Times with Low Prices.

But just how accurate has this been, really?

Let's look at a few examples.

2007.

According to the Benner Cycle, the year fell under 'Years of Good Times with High Prices.' This was the time to sell stocks and values of all kinds.

Anyone that sold a majority of their shares during this time period would have completely dodged the market crash of 2008.

2019.

Fast forward to 2019; The first cases of COVID-19 are identified in Wuhan in December. The following year, we saw global panic on an unprecedented scale. The Benner cycle said 2019 would be a year of panic. Once again, the Benner Cycle accurately predicted a catastrophic event in history.

Coincidence? Maybe. But eerie nonetheless.

How It Works.

So how does the Benner Cycle work?

Samuel Benner was a farmer who understood that seasonal cycles affect crops, which in turn affects supply and demand, ultimately affecting price. He applied this knowledge to the stock market and discovered that market cycles follow the same seasonal patterns.

Now, if you take a look at the cycle now, you'll see 2023 under "Hard Times". Considering the fact that we’re in a bear market, debt and inflation are through the roof and the US banks are barely holding on…

I'd say the “hard times” description is pretty accurate.

But the focus of the cycle isn't on the negative... rather, accumulation.

Here’s Where You Come In.

According to 'C', 2023 is a good time to buy stocks, goods, etc.

After accumulation, the cycle says “Hold till the "boom" reaches years of good times (2026), then unload.”

A wise man once said "the time to buy is when there's blood in the streets." So, personally, that’s what I’ll be doing.

As for Benner, only time will tell if he hits another home-run.
